Senate OKs E911 requirements

I gotta run to my sons and coach basketball, but I will do this real fast. Ars Technica has written about the new requirements E911 bill passed by the Senate. Ars normally does a great job with his analysis, so I will not bother. My only comment is that the Congress seems to write policy, without concern for the effort of implementing the procedures.

Now that the FCC has the authority to issue new requirements, I hope (but doubt), which will collaborate with businesses and technologies for implementing this correctly. OK, so I am cynical about the government, he worked on it all my life. EDIT: BTW, just in case some are wondering if this applies to the security of VoIP, for my surroundings, the service E911 is a security requirement.
