Cisco: the VoWiFi Dark Horse?

One week old article IT World Canada about the lack of standards in space VoWiFi has some interesting thoughts on the VoWiFi space, but the most interesting is the thought of all the notion that Cisco, of all players, took the better ecosystem of any Enterprise VoWiFi communications company. This is interesting because the thought Cisco has been particularly in space, opting to focus much of its next generation of communications efforts with their video Telepresence technology.

It is not very easy to use and reliable or we are not going to talk about the costs associated with a deployment. However, given the existing technology that owns Cisco is intriguing that they have yet to make a strong move. Since the rumor about the mobile VoIP and Fixed Mobile Convergence one would think that becomes more. Is it simply a VoWiFi dark horse? Or who left technology in the barn because I do not think it has legs? .

The Aastra 312W is Aastra’s newest addition to their line-up of IP phones and their first WiFi VoIP phone. It is an interesting move for Aastra, since they previously released their new Aastra SIP DECT phone and it has been widely discussed (especially by me) about the downfalls of WiFi IP phones.

Although the Aastra 312W is scalable enough to be deployed in large enterprises, it is recommended that these enterprises first make sure that their wireless infrastructure is upgraded so that it can handle the increased traffic and seamless hand off’s between access points. Not m… you. According to Wi-Fi Networking News, Starbucks is dumping is a partner of seven years, T-Mobile, AT & T new beau Under the new agreement, Starbucks customers will be able to use two hours of free Wi-Fi access per day (with a Starbucks card). This is not just a big business for those who prefer the unusual configuration of your local Starbucks to a cubicle, but also has some potential impact on the mobile VoWiFi and VoIP industries.

With AT & T Wi-Fi suppling McDonald's (8000) and places with this new version of Starbucks supply 17000. While it is a small footprint in the grand scheme of things, AT & T has all the elements necessary to provide some incredibly attractive and feature offerings to residential and business consumers alike. Should be interesting to see how all this develops.
